I create strong, contemporary images, using natural light. When I capture people I want them to enjoy the experience, feel relaxed, confident and empowered.
My art photography is mostly inspired by nature, especially the light, mountains and water of Iceland, where I return to twice a year. I am also inspired by colour, symmetry and light in urban landscapes.
A little bit about me: I’m half Icelandic and half Irish, a mother of two boys, an artist and a freelance portrait photographer living in Dublin. I became interested in photography when I was 15 years old, experimenting and learning about photography in the darkroom at my secondary school in Reykjavík. A few years later I met my husband in Dublin and moved to Ireland. I graduated from IADT with a BA degree in Commercial Photography in 2005. Since then I have been working as a photographer in Dublin, my work has been published in magazines and online. I also have my work exhibited in solo and group exhibitions.
When I’m not taking photos, I hang out with my kids. I Iove walking in nature, swimming in the sea and dancing to techno in my kitchen.
